For more than twenty years I have audited books that were supposed to be unremarkable and found the places where they weren't. Businesses, estates, and their counsel bring me two kinds of problems: money that has gone missing, and contracts that shouldn't be signed as written.
Practice
Finding money. Forensic reconciliation of accounts, recovery of unclaimed and misapplied funds, tracing of transfers and vendor overpayments. When the numbers don't add up, one side of that difference is usually recoverable.
Contract review. Line-by-line reading of agreements before they're signed and after they've gone wrong — payment terms, audit rights, escalators, and the clauses that cost money quietly for years.
